Here's a gentle reminder for you...
Father's Day is Sunday 6th September.
If you're tired of the old socks and ties routine, why not try a couple of these great Auckland suggestions for spending the day bonding as a family together:
Father's Day afternoon tea at the Langham Auckland
Cater to your appetite with a 'manly' afternoon tea. Especially created for Father's Day, the afternoon tea will be served in The Winery lobby bar from 12 noon to 4.30pm on Sunday 6 September for $35 per person.

The First Tee of New Zealand
Do something different with on Father’s Day and help support life skills programmes through the game of golf. On Sunday 6 September at the
Firmount Golf Park in East Tamaki any family combination can gather together (Mum, Dad and the kids or Granddad and Grandaughter/Grandson) and have fun playing a round of golf! Book your place early as spaces are limited.

Wine tasting on Waiheke Island
If you enjoy the odd glass of vino, go out for the day to Waiheke Island. Rangihoua Estate,
Stonyridge Vineyard and
Mudbrick Restaurant are all excellent options for wine tasting and lunch, with beautiful views to boot.
Go-Karting
For an exciting day of adrenalin try Go-Kart racing. Designed to test your driving skill it's something different to do and gives you a few hours of speedway fun.
Auckland Raceway in Henderson offers both indoor and outdoor racing on Auckland's largest track. Book ahead to avoid disappointment.
A buffet meal
If you have a large family a buffet meal is often the best way forward and provides an easy option to satisfy everyone's tastes and needs. The popular Valentines chain are all around Auckland and have plenty of options to choose from,
Fortuna Buffet at Sky City has three sittings throughout the day to suit your needs and
SBF Brasserie at The Langham offers a scrumptious buffet from 6am-11am, 12noon-2.30pm or 6pm-10.30pm.
Breakfast on the waterfront
Auckland has some lovely cafe's and restaurants dotted along the waterfront from Mechanics Bay to St Heliers Bay. Favourite's include
Mecca Stonehouse Cafe in Mission Bay,
Cafe Riva Mission Bay and
Annabelles Restaurant in St Heliers. All open nice and early for a leisurely Sunday breakfast.
Cheer on The Warriors
On Saturday 5th September at 7.30pm The Vodafone Warriors take on The Melbourne Storm at Mt Smart Stadium. Get the family to shout you a ticket and a hot dog, and settle in for a great night's entertainment.
A few pints
Auckland has a good handful of Brew bars which offer a good pint to quench the thirst. Mac's Brew bars offer a great range of limited edition beers at their locations around Auckland:
Northern Steamship in Quay Street,
Neighbourhood in Kingsland and the Trading Co Brew bar in
Nuffield Street Newmarket.
Speights Ale House in Albany and
Cardrona Speights Ale House in Mt Eden are also good spots to visit on a Sunday afternoon.
And if all else fails why not
grab some takeaways and sit around the box to watch Auckland V Dunedin as part of the Air New Zealand NPC Cup. Kick off is at 2.30pm. Go Auckland!
