This Life
By Jerry Wayne Humphrey
The night was so long I thought the day would never arrive
Now it is here and the sun is out it’s a great day to be alive
We never know when it will be our turn to leave
Lets not waste it and sit and grieve
Each day that we are here is indeed a gift
Being thankful for what you have should give your spirit a lift
You must try to think of the good you have in life
We need to try to forget the troubles toils and strife
If we look at the good in what we find
The bad won't so trouble our mind
Whatever you dwell on you unknowingly attract
So think of what you have and not what you lack
Don't think of what doesn't sound so clear
Be grateful for the wonderful things you can hear
Don’t be sad at what your eyes can't perceive
Be glad for the beauty of what they can still receive
Your life is filled with many wonders put there just for you
Whether it is good or bad depends on what you see and do
