Maintain cadence by rhyme & rhythm
Line after line, an algorithm
Disciplined mind constructing verse
Labouring wordsmith to converse

Impart meaning or thrust of thought
Undulating rhythm to support
Keeping true to the lord of rhyme
Sustain a language paradigm

Wannabees struggle with the muse’s soul
As armchair generals judge not the whole
With righteous clamour in life compose
The stuff’s near literate, transparent prose

Words and phrases piled in earnest fashion
Attempt to convey extraordinary passion
Melodious chimes in rapt profusion
It is but a poetry disillusion
