Temptation in one of its guises,
a man, caught me quite unprepared
he played a chord on my heartstrings
“let’s make sweet music,” he said.
Chorus:
He’s playin’ chicken with my conscience
I don’t know if I can resist.
I’m swingin’on a pendulum
If I stop I am bound to be kissed.
Verse 2:
Regret or unfulfilment
I know which I oughter choose
But seems to me whatever
I do, I’m the one that’ll lose.
Repeat chorus
Verse 3:
I ain’t gettin’ no younger;
Should I risk my all for a dream?
Well nothin’ ventured, nothin’ gained
And soon I might run outta steam.
Repeat chorus
Verse 4:
Temptation’s played chicken too often
so this time I’m gonna submit.
I’m gettin’off this pendulum
So please devil man don’t you quit.
Last Chorus:
You played chicken with my conscience
Now I don’t want to resist.
And for once in my life I will do what I want
just to prove to myself I exist.
I have composed a tune for this song, but unfortunately don't know how to write the music down.
