He strutted his stuff down
Broadway carrying a pail of paint
The way he looked in his ‘Levis’
Made the young ladies faint
Although I was well over thirty with four children in tow
I wasn’t too old to remember the things that make me aglow
He is often seen in Queenstown
He pilots his own streamlined jet
And would I like to meet him
The answer is ‘You bet’
A wine and a dance with this actor
To me would be quite a thrill
Even now thirty years later
I’m still not over the hill
We would chat and talk about disco
And the meaning of life
I wouldn’t keep him out late
I’d send him home to his wife
If there was a Mother’s Day contest
Asking whom Mother would most like to meet
It would have to be John Travolta
He would sweep me right of my feet
This Poem is one of the collection I published to celebrate my 70th birthday last October. The photo uploaded is the cover of the book, myself at 10yrs
