Regular Columnists on GrownUps

We had a great night on the 29th February in Auckland for our very first Mix n Mingle evening.
36 people attended and by all accounts had a really nice night, meeting some like-minded people in a casual setting in Westhaven.
We will definately look to make this a regular night and also with your help, expand into other cities and towns.
Thanks so much to all who made the effort as we really didn't know how it was going to go.
Here are the details of what it was all about...
Are you interested in increasing your friendship circle and maybe even finding that chaperone to whisk you off your feet?
GrownUps is pleased to bring you a mix & mingle evening, especially for you, our GrownUps visitors and members aged 50+.
The evening will be very casual, no pressure and just a nice chance to meet people, who are keen to enjoy life and all that it has to offer, whether single or couples.
Just bring yourself and your smile. Dancing shoes are optional!
Please register your interest by emailing us here and we'll keep you up to date with the response.
We'll be looking to hold events in all major centres if there is sufficient interest.
After all, who knows who you might meet?
...does this tickle your fancy?

'I would like to say a HUGE THANK'S for Friday night. I had the best evening that I have ever had in the whole 18 months I have been living in Auckland. My friend and I came to your Single Soiree event and it was extremely well organised. A great bunch of people and nice food. We would certainly come to another of your events and bring our friends. This was the first event we have been to. So from the two of us Thanks :)'
'I would just like to say thank you for organising last night. It is the first time I have done any sort of organised dating and I found the atmosphere very non threatening from the moment I walked in.
I, (like a lot of people I spoke with last night) was very nervous and had thoughts of not even getting out of the car! But as I said before, the atmosphere was very light hearted with a room full of people with no other expectations other than having a good night out.
I was a little worried that there may have been a lot of desperate people, but if there were, I certainly didn't meet them.
Positive thoughts......
- a safe secure environment knowing that, even if the person is not your cup of tea, it's only one night out of your life
- an opportunity to form new friendships with not only males but females in a similar situation to you.
Great for the self esteem :-) and I feel positive about the whole 'meeting' scene.'
