Peering through my window atop the hill I can see an entire circle of the Earth.
To the East the South Pacific Ocean opens out towards the distant horizon with small islands floating like dark green moss beneath a salmon pink sunsetting sky. Around my shoulders to North South and West a mottled shawl of shaded purple blue and green mountains hug the boundaries in a warming strength and giving protection from the Southern Pole's snow cold breath.
There is not a vehicle moving along the country road, nor a human being to be seen.

The only movement is the calm ,casual browsing of a flock of black-faced ewes.
There is no sound.
It is now only moments away from the fall of darkness.

Now birthed...to be nurtured by a mother.... they can never trust again.
Across their land the stench of lost life, along the shores the over-burdened craft set forth, forever to seek lost paradise.
And here in New Zealand , our Island Nation a mere 4 million souls spread beneath the sky in Paradise found, heave a gentle sigh as the rest of the World goes slowly by.
