While at work the other day I had my head down writing when someone came into the office to by a ticket. I acknowledged the person and told them I would be with them in a second.
When I looked up I saw a tall, long haired blonde standing with their back to me.
Can I help you Mam" says I and the person turns around to reveal a blond beared wonder.
Talk about red faced I nearly died I was so embarrassed. Thankfully he was good humoured and laughed along with me.
I hope not to make that kind of mistake again in a hurry.

Such an easy thing to do jo, would have happened very often back in the late sixties, when long hair was the 'in thing' for young me!
I had a look at your profile and see you have recently started bowls. Me too, had my first coaching lesson last Tuesday..... am very unsure whether I will ever get everything working as it should so a good clean and accurate bowl is sent down the green!
My favourite way of keeping the children amused on car journeys in the 70s was to guess the sex of the long haired people in front of us.
