As they adapt to their new surroundings, and knuckle down to some hard work and play, they realise very quickly that their lives will never be the same again. Against the backdrop of war-weary Forties Britain, Land Girls is set on the Hoxley estate, as the girls balance their working lives at the run-down Pasture Farm, and the opulent Hoxley Manor.

Nancy, Joyce, Bea, and Annie have all joined the WLA for very different reasons, but they all have one common goal, to serve their country and help win the war. The drama follows the women as they try to live out their lives in very challenging circumstances, with lots of laughter and tears along the way.

CATEGORY:           Television

A sophisticated eight-part conspiracy thriller that brings to life a cinematic world of blurred morality and the conflicted characters who inhabit it, starring Chiwetel Ejiofor, Christopher Eccleston, Sir Antony Sher and Stephen Rea. Detective Inspector Jonah Gabriel is called to investigate the murder of Harvey Wratten, head of one of the UK's largest crime organisations. But with amnesia, caused by a bullet lodged in his brain and 250,000 missing from the evidence room, Gabriel begins to wonder whether he can trust anyone, not least, himself.

On the other side of the line Joseph Bede, an associate of Wratten's, is planning to risk everything he has on one last drugs deal. Watching from the shadows is the brilliantly lethal puppet master - Gatehouse. As Gabriel begins to unravel the threads around Wratten's organisation, the web of intrigue becomes more complex - and the line that divides the players becomes increasingly blurred.

As seen on ABC1.

by Ruru 19th May 2009 I have always been a fan of The Good Life and was sorry when it left our TV screens. Australia is a film that I have wanted to see but have been unable because of no fit theatre in my area. The others sound like a very good viewing too, just right to watch over a hot meal in the middle if winter, before going out to a meeting or doing a bit of voluntary work.

by Whynot 3rd October 2009 I was blown away when I saw the October selection. What a great selection of movies. I have my fingers crossed and double crossed. I took hubbie out last night to see "Disgrace" and when I asked him what he thought of it, his despondent comment was "It wasn't a Western!" so it's awesome to see Appaloosa in there! The "Reader" was a book we delved into at my bookclub so I'd love to see this too. With family from France plus being involved in fashion, Coco Chanel is right up there too. To finish, our favourite TV to watch together is nature docos. I'd love to meet whooever put this package together as it looks like it has been made especially for me!
