Discarded now upon silver sands
blood red rose begins to fade.
Once held in lovers' hands
perfume lost within a wave.
Footprints now lost forever
on this lonely tidal shore
likened to the souls they carried
now gone, to be seen never more.
Sunsets soft and golden rays
to the heartbroken were inviting
beckoned lover to the waves
heart and soul now lost and dying.
