Another Funeral
I attended another funeral today
I said goodbye to a family member who had passed away
It seems like they come so quickly I don’t know what to say
They come to those close to us instead of far away
Another life has come to an end
Someone’s loved one, someone’s dear friend
From this earthly life they have now departed
Their new life now has only started
The wondrous things they will see and do
They are not for the likes of me and you
Our time goes on until our work is done
Until the job is finished and the battle won
Until our task is finished here and we no longer roam
Then the father will call and say come home
