A picture on a wall

One day I too shall become a photo on the wall.
Already thoughts are going to which photo
shall be the one to take pride of place
upon the wall, in someone's place.
Memories linger when one looks at the photos
already hanging on my wall.
I remember times spent with this one and that
laughs together, and tears shed.
How lovely it is to say, hi mum, hi dad
hi aunt, morning uncle
to those who take pride of place upon my wall
and if my loved ones do this for me
then how happy I shall be, to know they remember
me, as I take my place, upon the wall in someone's house
Because it is more than that, as one remembers,
happy times spent together, that loving hug
that special smile,that moment of joy which lingers on
even when we become a photo hanging there in pride of place
on someone's wall

I have a picture on my bedroom wall of a child - with rounded cheeks. wearing a sun bonnet and a smocked dress and holding a block with alphabet letters and an innocent expression - myself around the age of two - I feel amazed that I was once so young!
yes, I too have a photo of myself as a toddler, and it is guite funny looking at that and me now, but the photo hung on my parents wall for so many years then it came to me, so when I look at it, I remember it being there,and it brings back lovely memories for me.
