I enjoy this site, love playing rings and other games when I get the time, and am thrilled to have one two DVDs over the last six months or so. Thank you for the chance to participate, and for an interesting site.
Love the games also hope to add the odd story , I lived in Otira away down in the South Island for 6 years so I could just have a few tales about the West Coast of the South Island to tell .

I have only been with Gorwnups a couple of months but really love it. The best part is the connections are within NZ so people can identify more easily with what is being discussed. NZ is such a wonderful country full of wonderful diverse people.... this is just another reason to appreciate it. Have just joined grownups a few days ago and am hooked. Have only been using computer for 3mths and am still unsure of things. Been going to SeniorNet and they are great to get you on the right track. I am in my 60's and this has opened up a whole new world.

I just luv everything about this site..Often us over 50s are forgotten about .Yet we contribute alot in the way of spending chatting and to advertising plus the wonderful competitions..I have often looked here before considering purchasing..I luv the chatroom great for getting to know others of same age and lots of laughs..

Lots to see on this site, well put together and easy to navigate. I am convinced that I will spend more time on here than I should, but who cares, we are 'retired' so we really only have ourselves to please, and our 2 elderly cats, and ofcourse our 'live at home, stay at home' adult son. He is very useful though as he has found me some great sites since I started using the computor. All have our own setup so we never fight.

Hi even tho I have been a member of 'Grownups' for quite a long time now, I have never really been able to investigate and read what it is all about. I suffer with a couple of rare medical conditions and one had been affecting my eye sight and I was not able to read for very long, now that I have got a talking puter I am able to find out what is happening around New Zealand more. I have been looking for a website that has things to do for people around my age. Finally have a website which is for people like me who are sick of "young age" websites.
Good site for us grown ups. I love doing the crosswords and jigsaws. Shame there's so many ads and pop ups though.
I'm actually 31, and found this website while looking for code crackers online. I love it! I'm on every day looking for new ones, as well as the jigsaw. Good on whoever thought this idea up!
Hi Drummer47. Thanks for your comments. However GrownUps does not have any pop-up ads - if you are experiencing pop-ups this will be something your computer has picked up from another site. These ads are very annoying at the least and can be malicious at worst, we would recommend that you upgrade your anti-virus software to combat this. Thanks and please enjoy the site!
Hi.I'm rodibobo th 82 y.o. teenager who recently joined up just for fun. Anybody out there got a good yarn to tell. At our library we have a storytellers club. Meet once a month. There's a lot of talent about and it only needs bringing out. Last month we split up into little groups and had to act out the story of the three little pigs--sound silly? Jeez I tell ya we had some good laughs. With only 5mins prep we made a real hash of it but some others did a great job. It did me a world of good. Bless U all...

Just signed up, wish there had been more advertising about this site, I think even more would join, but I am so delighted to have found it during my constant roaming the net. It's not only full of very useful info but also competions, fun to be on and nice to hear about other 50+ people enjoying life while sick of people (sorry but mainly 30's/40's) telling you to stop living your life to the full and grow old gracefully - what is that really, I really don't know. But I want to wake up each day wanting to live life to the full, to feel alive and do new and different things not just wait to die. I'm glad I have found this site - to find like people.........

I am very disappointed in Grownups. I entered the GrownUps Design Competition way back in April this year. This involved much more than the usual amount of work as the requirements were to design a bumper sticker and/or/polo shirt and/or badge. Despite a number of emails and promises that a winner would be announced, I am still waiting the result. It's not the prize that is my concern (anything could be substituted if this had become a problem), but the fact that any entrants would have spent time and effort on this competition. Poor show GrownUps!
Hi Whynot, The winners for this competition were announced earlier in the year in the Community Connection Newsletter sent out on the 26th of May. This is standard for most of our competitions. You can also find a copy of all the entries on GrownUps. Kind regards.

Hi, Thanks "Grownups" for my flight sox. When I entered the competition I had just decided that at the age of 84 & having lost my husband after almost 60 years of marriage if I was going to "do" something I had better get cracking. Saw the competition & entered but it also put the idea in my head of travel. Well I've been!!! Family were dumbfounded but I booked a flight with Emirates & on my own flew to England for 5 weeks. I was so well looked after on the plane & stayed with friends. Now I have just received a pair of flight sox & well I can't leave them in my drawer so hopefully I will head off somewhere else so I can use them. So thankyou Grownups - you were the inspiration & other over 80's out there take the chance like I did & have fun.
