THE TURNING

The TurningDiscover an extraordinary filmmaking collaboration in TIM WINTON'S THE TURNING. Eighteen talented Australian directors from diverse artistic disciplines each create a chapter of the hauntingly beautiful novel by multi award-winning author Tim Winton. The linking and overlapping stories explore the extraordinary turning points in ordinary people’s lives in a stunning portrait of a small coastal community. As characters face second thoughts and regret, relationships irretrievably alter, resolves are made or broken, and lives change direction forever.

With contributions from such unique voices as Robert Connolly (BALIBO), Warwick Thornton (SAMSON & DELILAH), Tony Ayres (HOME SONG STORIES), Justin Kurzel (SNOWTOWN) and Mia Wasikowska, among many more, and starring Cate Blanchett, Rose Byrne, Hugo Weaving, Miranda Otto and so many other talented individuals, this watershed film reinterprets and re-imagines Winton's work for the screen.

JONATHAN CREEK EASTER SPECIAL: THE CLUE OF THE SAVANT’S THUMB

Jonathan CreekWhen a dead body impossibly vanishes from a locked study it is only the first in a chain of dark mysteries confronting Jonathan Creek and self-styled paranormal investigator Joey Ross.

A grisly murder, the macabre history of a Catholic girls’ school, a sinister local society and a series of increasingly puzzling, interlocking clues form the backdrop to another weird and wonderful case for Creek and Joey – this time however, they find themselves merely junior players in an inquiry spearheaded by the flamboyant and indomitable detective inspector Gideon Pryke.

An inquiry whose resolution will prove infinitely deeper and darker than any of them could have imagined …

Alan Davies (Q.I.) and Sheridan Smith are back to solve another seemingly impossible mystery from the prolific pen of David Renwick (ONE FOOT IN THE GRAVE). Joining the sleuths are a superb line of guest stars including Joanna Lumley (ABSOLUTELY FABULOUS), Rik Mayall (BOTTOM) and Nigel Planer (THE YOUNG ONES).

SISTER

SisterLéa Seydoux (BLUE IS THE WARMEST COLOUR, FAREWELL MY QUEEN) delivers on her promise as France’s next breakthrough star with her astonishing performance in SISTER, Ursula Meier’s internationally-heralded and extraordinarily moving new drama about two siblings searching for a place in the world.

12-year-old Simon (Kacey Mottet Klein) lives with his restless older sister Louise (Seydoux) at the base of the Swiss Alps. Every day he takes the cable car to the ski resorts above to pilfer from rich tourists, while Louise drifts through a series of part-time jobs and promiscuity, sometimes disappearing for days on end. In her absence, Simon forges a strong bond with a wealthy tourist (Gillian Anderson), and his fragile relationship with his sister fractures into dangerous new territory…

PARIS REVEALED

ParisParis Revealed embarks us on a journey to the heart of the most emblematic monuments of the City of Lights. From the gargoyles-topped heights of the Cathedral of Notre-Dame to the alcoves of the Sacré-Cœur Basilica in Montmartre, and to the gigantic iron arches of the Eiffel Tower: learn all the secrets and history behind these three mythical places from those who look after these romantic structures.

THE EIFFEL TOWER: The history and unknown challenges faced by Paris' most famous landmark are explored – how the height, the limited space within the tower and the presence of visitors 365 days a year, impose constraints on all those who work there.

THE HEART OF NOTRE DAME: Unfazed by the incessant flow of tourists, the "cathedral family" at Notre Dame carry on with their daily duties 365 days a year, including over 1000 annual celebrations and concerts.

MONTMARTRE: The Montmartre hillock has always cultivated its singularity. Renoir, Picasso, Satie, Bruand… the list who have created there never ends. But do the new inhabitants fit with the old bohemian?
