My Grand Children gave me a new Ukulele for Christmas which I'm trying to learn. The new instrument is easy to tune and has a nice sound. What I need to do is play a tune everyone can recognise and enjoy.

Any tips, suggestions or comments would be very much appreciated. Living in a small town its hard to connect with other adult learners and so I thought of setting up a Facebook group called "Ukuleles @ home for adult learners". It would be really nice to hear from anyone with an interest in the Ukulele.

by Zenobia 30th July 2012 Hi all :) I teach beginner ukulele to a small group of children at my school. I've found that kiwiukulele has the most comprehensive chord chart, and that Richard G's Uke songs (just put that phrase into google) has the easiest format to print and follow. It's also all arranged in keys that are easy to play on the uke. I realise this thread is a good 6months old, so I hope you've managed to learn lots in the time, and enjoyed playing the ukulele. Zenobia
by bronju 21st January 2012 Thats true you can down load lyrics and chords from the net and practice at home. Do you have a family friend or family member who will practice with you. Young ones learn at school today. I have much fun learning new songs
by gerald006 16th January 2012 Hi There. Just put Ukelele on Google. There are many sites teaching you to play.
by tamm002 10th January 2012 Hi Kiwilittle, My husband gave me one for xmas a couple of years ago, I love it. I went on line and looked for chords for songs I liked and found basic ones for childrens nursery rhymes. They are very easy and also there is a kiwi ukelele book out. I am a Kindy teacher so get to use it at work lots. If you have trouble finding any let me know and I will send you copies of what I have found. Tammy
