Armchair Activists... Are We?

Heard this delicious definition of an evolution of the internet on radio today,that as a result there is a growing "power" of the armchair activist.

And I thought,"ah yes,another twist of the meaning of word "democracy"... how brilliant...!" And judging by the sometimes heated discussions we have here on G/Ups it makes me wonder if anyone outside of our little "revolutionary council" actually reads or takes notice of the growing unrest gathering amongst those of us who are struggling with the economics of life while dealing with our own slowly failing physical "properties",but with a still active mind.

And I wonder if collaborating with Grey Power would make a yet more powerful lobby for flaying a govt (any govt) who listens only to lobbies and the greater number of any group put down in front of them...?

Or even how many Grey Power members are already conversing on this site...?

There is a growing wave of computer savvy people coming into our site with a very firm grasp of what such technology can do compared to petitions and referendums of past years.

And I find it all quite exciting in that it goes beyond just having a chatline for daily discussions if various people want to go deeper than simply throwing comments into a ring for the fun of it...lol.

Any thoughts on this?
