Sick of Internet Dating and Blind Dates, wanting to socialise with other likeminded people? Well have you tried a group, or more importantly THE GROUP!

The Group, formed in 1999, is a well established events company for single people aged between 30 and 70 years of age providing Dinners, Activities and events. We pride ourselves on a high standard of professionalism which has seen us become a well respected organisation. We meet all prospective members which not only helps us to get to know you but also provides all our members with a level of security not available if you meet through the Internet.

All of our activities, dinners and events are held in quality and stylish venues and because you meet a number of people at one time the opportunity of increasing your circle of friends, both male and female, is maximised.

Joining The Group enables you to avoid that awkward and disappointing blind date situation where the person isn't quite what you expected, and gives you the time to connect with people in a natural social environment. No rush, no surprises and the bonus of having varied and interesting dinners, activities and events to look forward to.

There are a variety of options from Age group dinners, Mix and Mingles, Barbecues, Parties, Outdoor activities including Tramping, Kayaking, Go-karting. and Weekend trips away, even Cooking and Dancing classes. Gain some new skills as well as new friends. We do all the organising and you get to have all the fun - choose as many or as few events as appeal to you and which fit in with your schedule.

The type of people that join are often experiencing the following circumstances –

  • Have lots of great friends who are getting married, focusing on babies, the mortgage and mowing the lawns on the weekend.
  • Newly single after a number of years and although they have wonderful friends they are in relationships and are unavailable for social activities often enough.
  • Life has been so busy with commitments to work and family that they have not given themselves the time to have a rewarding social life.
  • Or they are new to Auckland from overseas or other parts of New Zealand.

If you can relate to these examples and you feel ready to add a new social dimension to your life, take the time to have a chat with Bev & Steven to see how The Group could inject some fun in to your life.

by sue127 23rd June 2012 Sounds good. How would it work for people not in a major centre. I live in Thames after moving back to nz almost 2 years ago.
by whitecrane 14th July 2009 Pity, sounds great but I am 2yrs past the cutoff age!! Having said that I certainly don't look it and more importantly don't act it!! How about making it 75 max?
