Have recently been fitted with digital hearing aids and had a worrying drive home thinking my car was about to explode as the noise was scary. After tea I settled down to listen to a Cello C.D. That is when I realised that a car was racing up and down the busy road making awful "Varooming" sounds. I stood it for an hour and a half and began to walk to the corner to take this "Hoons" plate number and report him.
I was quick to realise that it was not one car, but every car that left the corner when the lights turned green. As they passed the over 60's village where I live the drivers were accelerating, sending this dreadful disturbance into my home. On the opposite side of the road the same thing was happening as cars left the lights which were just down the road. I had a chuckle about it all and began to feel sorry for my neighbours with normal hearing. But they say they never notice it. That might happen for me one day. At I can turn them off. On the plus side I heard sparrows as they fought each other over the bread I put out for them. I can't remember ever hearing that. Here is a big bouquet for digital technology.
