Are you dealing with Loneliness & Isolation?
Age Concern’s Accredited Visiting Service is
now available in most areas.
This service is freely available for people over 65 who live in the community, who are at risk of social isolation. An AVS Co-ordinator will carefully match a volunteer visitor (who has been screened and trained) to regularly visit (approximately 1 hour per week) a client with the aim of alleviating loneliness, to foster companionship and to link the client up to other social connections if appropriate.
This service is available to:
• people over 65 requiring a visitor or
• Couples where one person is the carer of a partner who has high needs
The other available option, of course, is to volunteer as a visitor!
