Central Plateau Scooter Challenge
Age is no obstacle when it comes to helping children and their families going through the rigours of cancer treatment.
The inaugural Central Plateau Scooter Challenge is proving that, with registrations of over 50 so far (including an 80+ year old). An amazing and gratifying response for the event organizer Terena Currey.
On 26th March, these intrepid scooter riders will depart Wanganui and head for Taupo, crossing the Rangipo Desert Summit (1074m), on an endurance ride of over 260km, FUNdraising for Child Cancer.

Rather belated up-date:
Almost 70 scoots ridden by all ages, (one in their 80s), set off from Wanganui at 7.30am in cold, wet, windy weather.
There were a few teething problems, but only 4 did not make it to Taupo where they arrived at 5.45pm.
The amount they raised for Child Cancer topped $30,000 and most are keen to participate again in 2013 which is a compliment to the organizer.
Such a stalwart bunch of folk, who put their own comfort on the back-burner for this worthy cause. Well done everyone!
