Carers Pamper Day!

Caring for Carers Hawkes Bay is delighted to announce it is holding its first Carers Pamper Day on September 26th 2008, at the Pettigrew Green Arena in Taradale from 10am - 1pm.

Carers are invited to come along and enjoy a few hours of pampering and a bit of fun! Carers will be treated to a neck and shoulder massage, some entertainment and other special surprises during the morning! A yummy light lunch by Spoon Catering and refreshments will be provided. All Carers will also receive a goodie bag of treats to take home with them so their pampering lasts longer!

Enliven Homeshare Programme

The Homeshare programme first started in the United States 23 years ago, and since then has spread across Europe and into Australia where it has been running for 9 years. Enliven Homeshare has taken the best of the world’s knowledge and developed the Enliven Homeshare programme for older New Zealanders.

The Advantages of Enliven Homeshare

For the householder:
- Stay in your own home and retain your independence, and the relationships you have in your community
- Have some help with daily tasks. (This does not include personal cares)
- Companionship
- Enjoy peace and security at night by having someone in your home at night.
- Reassurance for your family and friends

For the homesharer:
- Low cost accommodation
- Pursue own employment or tertiary study during the day
- Companionship
- Live in a safe and friendly environment
- Save money

Enliven Homeshare will carefully interview, reference and police check prospective homesharers of integrity, and match them with a compatible older householder.

Once a householder and homesharer are matched, Enliven Homeshare will introduce you to each other and set up a trial living together period of one month, and support you both as you settle in with each other.
