Autism Awareness Week

We invite you to take part with the FIRST ANNUAL “WALK 4 AUTISM AWARENESS”.  The Fun Run/Walk will be at Hagley Park, May 3rd, 2009 starting at 9.30am. For an event of such magnitude to succeed, the participation of the entire community is needed, so we truly would appreciate your support.

If you would like to be involved further, forming a team to walk in the event, complete the attached registration form. You can also help us by forwarding this email to as many contacts in Canterbury as you can, as to make a real difference its important the whole community comes together.

As this is a community event we are giving back to ALL Schools (incl. pre-schools) 50% of the registration fee as long as they include their School on the registration form at the time they register.

Autism NZ Canterbury Branch First Annual Walk/Run for Autism Awareness


Date:                Sunday, 3rd May 2009
Registration:  8.00am – 9.15am
Start time:     9.30am
Location:         North Hagley Park
Distance:      2.5km, 5km and 10km

Prizes include: Family trip on the Tranz Scenic, family ticket Antarctic Centre, Kingston Flier, Weka Pass, Family ticket gondola and tram, numerous other prizes and vouchers.

Cost: $20 per family (includes 2 adults and 3 children)
$10 per adult (late registration fee $15)
$5 per child 18 and under (late registration fee $7)
Under 5’s free

Registration deadline: 17th April 2009 (Registration can take place on the day of run)

The children shown here have Autism. They face huge challenges that include difficulties with communication, social interaction and expressing emotions. Please help these children by supporting this event.
