Alzheimers Annual Appeal Fundraising Week - 15-21 July (Waikato)

The week of 15-21st July is the Alzheimers Annual Appeal Fundraising Week. Alzheimers Waikato (which covers the entire Waikato DHB region) have been very fortunate to secure bookings outside the majority of Countdown supermarkets in our area, these include:

Hamilton, Cambridge, Morrinsville,  Matamata, Te Aroha, Paeroa, Putaruru and Otorohanga

A roster has been developed for the period 18th to 21st July (Wednesday through to Saturday inc), and the challenge is to now find approximately 300 volunteers across the region prepared to commit 1 to 2 hours collecting at one of the venues as listed above – in their own local area.  We would appreciate all offers of assistance.

Alzheimers Waikato provides:

• Information on Alzheimers disease and related dementias

• Telephone support

• Education sessions to develop coping strategies and skills for the primary carer and the extended family

• Home visits

• Advice about community support

• Support Groups for carers in 10 different areas

• Community Awareness talks

• Training for residential care facility staff and in-home carers
