The Green Hub
Who are we?

The Green Hub is challenging the government to step up again and support the cleanup of tyre waste in New Zealand. According to the Ministry for the Environment scrap tyres have become a huge problem waste and about 4 million each year or 11,000 every day need to be disposed of appropriately in order to reduce the risk to people and the environment. While the Government is ignoring this problem our community group, The Green Hub in Palmerston North, is on a mission to collect as many scrap tyres as we can and we are travelling the length of the country to clean up New Zealand.
The tyres are being recycled into carbon derived fuel. This fuel meets all international air emission standards and reduces the use of fossil fuels. The tyres are chipped in New Zealand and exported to countries that have proven, and environmentally sound, technology to use them as an energy source.
Come on Farmers, Garages and Tyre Shops!
The Green Hub wants your tyres... they take 50,000 yrs to break down if they are not recycled.
So we are turning them in carbon derived fuel.
Don’t dump them!!! Help us clean up New Zealand.Phone us at 0800 TYRE HUB (or 06 355 8105)
