Well done, Bazza. I have a bet on the Melbourne Cup every year (except last year) but I had no luck this time. Spent the grand total of $24 to no avail but enjoyed my little bit of fun. However, a friend and I thought we would go to the Gisborne races on Saturday afternoon for a change. Wish me luck - hope my $20 goes far!

G'day.
Is this card starting to come of age now???
I see all the companies that are offering free transport travel here in Auckland for the 'Gold Card' holders are advertising on popular radio, and have been for most of this week. This must be great exposure for the 'Card' and for it's holders.

G'day All,
A week or so ago someone, Jobel I think it was, said she heard a rumour that this Government was going to axe the SuperGold Card this year.
After email those half educated egg heads in Wellington John Key has made it clear that the Government has no such intention.
Cheers.

I used the gold card for the first time a couple of weeks ago but wont overdo it . prefer to take the car as it is quicker for me as I would have to get 4 different buses to get to my grandchildrens place , but it was great for a trip over to Waiheke . Couldn't drive the car there .

Hey Lemin,
I shove it under everybodys nose mate....surprising what you get in the way of discounts and from whom.
I reckon the more we use it the more universal it'll become which in turn will help people in smaller citys and towns. Do you not use it for your rates....people out here in Papakura are getting 500 dollars of their rates mate, and that came out loud and clear at the Super City meeting the other night and their rates discount will not be effected and the Gold Card will be an on going and into the future.
Check out your rates mate.
I can't get it as yet as Cookie Pooh's earns too much.
Cheers mate.
Hey Nana you do the same....check your card out against your rates.
Blaketown !!!! West Coast. ????
Cheers to you love.

Hi Nana, good to see another Coaster on GU's. Rosie from Runanga is one too but I haven't seen her on here for a while.
Hi Squirter, yes Blaketown is here on the Coast. It is a suburb of Greymouth. Yes Greymouth is big enough to have suburbs. I go to Blaketown every morning at around 3.30am to collect the work van.

Thanks Moana, we got the great sum of $74.89 but put out $12. I only bet on the Melbourne cup and the funny thing is that for years and years I just put 3x2 on No.10 my lucky No. and my birthday but this year I flaged it (silly Boy) My wife could'nt beleive I did'nt take it so she did but only 1x1 on each horse. Lots of fun though. Cheers, Bazza. PS. I heard that Septimum is still eating grass out on the course.
