Kia Ora I`m back.....hope that Squirter guy has settled down.
Two issues I`d like to comment on.
First in regards to people writing songs and someone else making a lot of money out from them...a girl in Gisborne Julie Nelson I think her name was wrote "We`ll sing in the sunshine" and Bobby Bare and Skeeter Davis made a fortune out of it.
Secondly hello to Wharite next time I need to go to the Woodville area I`ll time it to co-incide on the second Sunday of the Month. Love to sit down with some Country lovers and have a jam or sing-song.

I went to a Neil Diamond 'Concert' a few years ago and sat to the left of the stage. I could not see the s
inger or even the video screen. I have over 10,000 tune/songs in my collection and none of the are from Neil Diamond.

Hello fellow country music fans.
Just thought that some of you might be interested in listening to or having in the background a guy called Carter Edwards. He hosts a show every Saturday and Sunday night from 6 - 9 pm Aust time which is 8 - 10 our time. He plays some great songs both old and a few newer ones by artists like Isla Grant for example as well as some of his own recordings. Very interesting and entertaining guy. Anybody can ring in and speak to him and also he will take requests. Just enter Carter Edwards in search or station is 2SM Sydney or 1269AM
Another good station to tune in to is Todays Country 105 FM Radio Calgary
Ray I know how you felt at Neil Diamond show you went to. Years ago I went to see Kenny Rogers. Absolutely loved him in those days but it was a very short performance compared to other artists I had seen. Very disappointing and no prize for guessing I wont be spending my money seeing him this time round.
Very lucky we are up here as have a lot of cm clubs to go to both at weekends and week nights should we wish to and often a concert or variety show on also.

Hi Emme, thanks for the comments. I have seen a few shows in my live and I was so disappointed with Neil Diamond. I was wild enough that I came home and had a look through my music collection and was going to delete his songs only to find I did not have any of his work and it will remain that way.

RamblingFever, my father was a song writer. One of his songs was featured on Suzanne Prentice's 25th Anniversary Album.
Suzanne made her money from record sales but every time the song was played on air my father got royalties. Once all the albums had sold out, Suzanne's income from the CD stopped, but our family continues to get royalties from my dad's song every time it is played.
That should be the same for your friend, Julie Nelson, if she wrote the song and it is registered in her name. If she sold the copyright to the song it might be a different matter but otherwise she should be getting the income from her song.
