Looking for all Olsen's especially the ones from North Auckland with family born or in Dargaville, some may now live in Whangarei, Warkworth etc. Father,Grandfather is Oscar and Mother Grandmother is Lillian and they eloped from Australia and didnt get married till 1951 much to everyones amazement. I have Olsen ancestry - Olava Olsen (born in Christiana (now Oslo) Norway in 1861 came to NZ with her family, mother Bertha, father Christian (born 1840 in Sweden), with her siblings (names not known).Olave married William francis Anderson (born Wilhelm Franz Anderson 1857, Gottenberg, Sweden) in Wellington on 16 October 1884. Their children were Wiila, Oscar, Francis, Percy, Olive and Gustav - known as Charles. Percy married Mary Helen Myers in Wanganui in 1912 and my mother Nellie was their eldest child. Olava died in Wellington in 1929.

Is there any connection with your Olsens?

I have Olsen Ancestors. Martin Olsen married Emily Page McCormick in the Thames Coromandel area.

My mother Ysobel Mapp married Derek Francis Olsen, they lived in the Waikato until his sudden death. he was 1921-1952

This photo taken c1909 is of a gathering of the Olsen family. Olava Olsen (top row 2nd from rogh, her husband William Anderson to her left and son Emil (my grandfather) to her right. Emil's sister, Olive front row left. Others in the photo could be Karen Olsen and her 2nd husband Emil Pasche; Marie Olsen and husband (name unknown) and Hans Jacob Olsen (Olava's only brother) and possibly his wife. The chilren's names are unknown but could be the children of William Anderson Jnr and his wife Francies Dumbleton or of Hans Jacob Anderson, or grown up children of Karen, Caroline Pasche (nee Olsen) and Marie.
Are there ancestors of Karen Lamberg, later known as Myhre, Caroline Pasche, Hans Jacob Olsen, and Marie Olsen (Olsdatter) aliove in NZ? If so would dearly love to hear from any of them to fill in missing parts of our family Tree. The Olsens migrated from Christiana (now Oslo) Norway in the late 1800s.

DonL, which part of the country did your Olsens live in? Was it by any chance Norsewood?

Christine (Tine) Olsen married William Charles Cross born about 1870's in Christchurch. Her parents (Norweign) lived on the foothills Rd, Heathcote, ChCh. Olsen family still lives around ChCh.
