...........or ask them what part of "NO" theysad don't understand as some of them are very persistent.
It's not just overseas phonecalls, the people selling those heating systems keep calling too, to say they're just in the neighbourhood...........It often shows up as "private"....no number to trace.

Las year we were in the market for the Govt house insulation package. As always with the potential to cost into 4 we got quotes from several suppliers.

So far so good. We didn't actually go with the cheapest deal but the supplier we thought the best to deal with. As it turned out we made a good choice. Where our problem is one of those that we got a quote from has marketing done by (You Guessed it) Tele-Marketers! We have had no less that 8 calls from them. Always at an inconvenient time (Evenings).

I have told the company concerned that I have dealt with them in the past but I will NEVER deal with them again!

I have told the tele-marketers in very graphic terms what they can do with the insulation and their phone but the B******s still ring!

For several years the Do Not Call service has been run by the Marketing Association to help decrease the number of unwanted, unsolicited phone calls consumers receive from organisations. It is a free service offered to New Zealand householders.

The Marketing Association does not hold, rent or sell lists containing names, addresses or phone numbers of householders in New Zealand. If you ask a company/organisation where they got your number from and they say it was from the Marketing Association, this is a mistake and we would like to hear about it so we can talk to them about subscribing to the Do Not Call list."

BD, #39, Thanks for the link for the Do Not Call Register. I put my name on it a long time ago, but the calls still seem to come through recently, so I have re-submitted my details. I do realise that some organisations do not subscribe to the list, so maybe that's why I still get tele-marketing calls. Worth a go, anyway, I hope biggrin
