Oi,
""The grass is rarely greener on the other side....""
Particularly when it's 'not' viewed with holiday eyes.
Cheers.

I totally agree, about holidays and reality, lol
We never did our OE as an experiment for the coins
and I can tell you,,, its no diff to us what side of the Grass or water we are on.lol.
Coins still not high in our case :
for us its about Circumstances at the time, and putting down temp lifestyle, and still having access n love of the Closest of the Whanau and the friends, and working with what we got,,,, on whatever day we have got it..
Life's here for our ones and others,,,to be shared n cared with
and as each routine changes, we have to change, sometimes not as quick as we used to due to taking bit longer to do a marathon,
But without a sense of humour ,,,and good support from the nomads around ,,,,would be a long lonely walk
Cheers Kai

Isn't it marvelous how people always blame the ruling party for social wrongs, specially when it is not the party they support.
Labour had NINE years in which to right some wrongs which they now blame National for. Yet they did precisely NOTHING about them when they were in power
And that was when the global economy was reasonably strong.
Sure National have their faults. But they are currently, in fact as long as they have been in power, been working in a serious global recession. Now I'm not that pleased with National at the moment, but, there's no denying that they are coping far better than the last three term Labour govt would have done
And let us not forget Michael Cullen's sniggering comment just before the 2008 election, when National made some statements about what they intended to do with the national surplus funds.
"There is no surplus because I've spent it all" And what he SHOULD have said was that he'd WASTED it all. Amongst other things, paying a total of more than THREE AND A HALF times for N Z Rail than even TOLL RAIL reckoned it was worth.

Well chris I have to say that I partly agree with you, but the thing is, and I have been saying it over and over again, BOTH major parties have mucked things up! Neither seems to have the answer to our countries problems.
I really don't know what's wrong with the NZ voter, if you keep doing the same you get the same result!
So it's time we tried something else, don't you think? We have (by my count) 7 Parties in the House of Representatives yet we end up putting in the same old same old.
IT'S TIME FOR A CHANGE!
Sorry to shout but........
I don't know which or even if one has the answer but we will never know until we try one. Let me repeat "If you keep doing the same you get the same result" Or Same Old, Same Old!

Chris, what were those wrongs that Labour should have righted and for which they are now blaming National?

Indeed Bryan. B'stards, the lot of them.
And perhaps it IS time for a change;I wonder which of the minor parties might do least damage??

That BD is the $64,000 question! And that's a fact!
I'm afraid I don't know BUT what I DO know it that the Party System is corrupt and when someone is voted in to "Represent" an electorate he should represent THAT electorate and not the party!
Presently if something is bad for an area but good for the party they vote with the party. THIS SHOULD NOT HAPPEN!
That is a simplification but you get the general idea.

"The companies are following in the footsteps of the food production industry, which has been shifting jobs out of Australia to take advantage of New Zealand's lower wages."
I imagine its all working out as as planned by those who just do not give a toss about people, just so long as they can make a profit.
Keep wages low, jobs few & far between & break any remaining union power & voila! a handy pool of poor & desperate ready to work for b*gger all.....
Its enough to make you weep. Pure evil, imo.
