Oh no - keep trying, Tis. Sometimes it seems this site has its gremlins, sometimes it really plays up if you try to go back and edit something you've already written. But just keep on trying, please, I'm enjoying your contributions.

My apologies for bringing racism into the discussion. Is it a personal perception perhaps, Most people a re decent and go out of their way to be kind and helpful to all those who treat them the same.

Why do we have bullying in schools with spectators screaming encouragement. Why pick on a another for no reason except the colour or language is different. Is it insecurity and a mental problem that makes a group deliberately target a single person and bash him.

When we figure it out we may come to an understanding of why some humans behave like this.

biggrin You are very kind arandar but it really wasn't interesting. And I had to finish preparing dinner. You are right - I did try to edit it, then all sorts of "foreigners" popped up!! Just a far too lengthy response to Joybell - that there was no sign of racism at any school I attended either. I didn't even know it existed outside South Africa and America. But as an adult I learnt it was and had always been rife. I wouldn't hazard a guess which country has more racism, but Australia, historically, has a far worse record for it.

Also, Squirter, you are correct that the thread was originally just a query about Falun Gong. A reply explaining it would have been the end of the thread. Is there a rule with Grownups that a discussion must not evolve, or as you put it, '"degenerate"? because it is called a "discussion" not a Q & A site

Hero, when I mentioned the words "queue jump" I did not literally mean there was a queue waiting to get into NZ. So I will try again in words that I hope you will understand this time. My objection to boat people is that they blatantly try and bypass the required channels for immigration. They have to pay large sums of money to the people smugglers who own and operate these rust buckets (somewhere in the region of $30,000 each I believe). They are trying to force their way in through the back door using deception and coercion (eg threatening to toss their kids overboard if not allowed to land). I would deny entry to each and everyone of them and send the whole blardy lot back where they came from!!

G'day tis,

Every country on this globe has in past times (whenever) had some form of rasism/genocide/slaughter, call it whatever name you will. IMHO, it serves no purpose as it's gone, done, overwith, it's yesteryear. Over the years it has caused more agro on this site than you can shake a stick at, and none of us like that do we.

Yesterday is for leaning lessons, today is rectifying those lessons, and tomorrow is living those lessons.

Cheers love. biggrin

Hi tis,

Further to what Squirter had to say (and I know he will agree with me as he does the same) we have and always do stray off the path from time to time.

I suppose it's part of being old and not liking being told what to do but yes at times we have gone miles from the original post until someone drags us back "Kicking and Screaming". eekeek

Sometimes these threads remind me of that whispering game we played as children when somebody whispered something to someone who passed it on. Sometimes the end message was quite different from what started out. I like it that way....usually the previous post has made something pop into your mind.razzrazz
