confusedim with you there arent many radio stations with the music over 40s in particular like to listen to, in my opinion there wasnt anything wrong with solid gold why change it and the name "sounds" ? sounds dumb. there is already the breeze in wellington that plays this type of format, solid gold was unique, BRING IT BACK PLEASE

Well after listening to the great announcers such as Blackie , Big Tony and ALL the others over the years , in fact I first starting listening to Kevin Black when he was one of the 'Crew' on the S.S.Hauraki in the days when they had to go out to see to broadcast the music we wanted to hear, so over the years I have heard a number of announcers come and go and loved them all they were like my family I enjoyed their banter with each other and us , now there is nothing just some announcer I don't even know and absolutely NO friendliness about the station now . They keep saying that it is how we want it after they did a servay I don't recall one . After listing to both S.S.Hauraki and Solid Gold for some 40 odd years I now have to find another I do not want to listen to this '' Sounds '' station it does NOTHING for me. R.I.P. Solid Gold :-(

Whoah! I have been listening to Radio Hauraki for longer than I can remember. Yes back in the days when Blackie and co went out to sea to do their thing. For me, Hauraki has totally lost the plot and I have told them so. Does that simply mean maybe that I am getting older and they are looking for a younger audience? In my search for something I could listen to I have stumbled upon The Sound and I love it. A breath of fresh air with all the stuff I want to listen to. Long may it continue.cool

I agree with you all. What is wrong with enjoying the music of yesterday? I am yet another who has changed stations. In my opinion there are too many stations aimed at men!! What about the female of the species!mad

As stated in another post I'm gutted. Chalk me up as another who has moved to Coast FM. What happened to Macca!?
