I have this niggle in the back of my mind for sometime now. Why are we expected to traipse off to a polling booth to vote when there is an excellent way of doing this online?
We can fill in our Census forms online, bank online, shop online, relicense our car online, get information regarding our personal tax online, plus many more items that are able to be done this way. But we still have this draconic way of voting.
We would for sometime need polling booths for ones that have no computer, but a lot less scrutineers which would also be a saving. It would be so simple to set up, just two passwords and once you have voted that is it, you can not get into the site until the next election, this could also apply to local body elections as it must cost a fortune to post out voting papers.
So what do you think folks?
