Is this what I had for my flu injection. If so, why am I so miserable with the flu? It began Monday evening with a runny nose and slight cough after visiting my great grandies, though i guess i can't really blame them. last night there was no sleep, just neverending coughing and nose drips. Today is as bad and my temperature is up. Have nothing in the house but Vicks and no one to shop and no available cash in my wallet. Ah! I think there is some blackcurrant cordial in the back of the cupboard. It is probably passed its use by date but then so am I so must have a look. Any wonder cures out there?

Oh dear Joybel. What about an onion as advised in an earlier post.?
Is there no one you can contact to get you something?
It pays to be prepared for colds and flu's.
You must have some panadols or similar.
Hopefully you'll feel better soon and take care.

Joybel strikes me it is time to forego injecting forms of the influenza virus and hoping to not get the flu, rather get into better strategies like using Malcolm Harkner and build your immune system instead. Vaccines are only, in theory, about stimulating immune response and are about as successful as, expecting an umbrella, to keep you feet dry in Wellington.

Joybel, Surely you should contact your grandchildren in Christchurch, I am sure they would be horrified to know you are in such need...Do be sensible and take care please

I It sounds like the after effects of the flu-jab Joybel. My husband had his and had a similar effect. Then he gave it to me, and it was a horrible wet nose business, and coughing to follow. Not much helps it just has to have its way for a few days, most unpleasant.

Joybel, get well soon.
Please, either contact your family or your doctor. Flu is a serious illness especially for the very young and the old.
You shouldn't be trying to soldier on alone.
Keep your fluids up and stay warm but, most importantly, get help and proper advice.
Best wishes.

Arandar and Mpna, Glad I was not the only one concerned as usual made to feel a fool by posters on Current affairs thread only interested in relaying their own experiences....Joybel please let us know you are OK and hope you do not think I was intruding on your privacy but my posting was out of genuine concern for a fellow GUP

Thank you silverfern the lack of concern really got to me, just so many people on ego trips, like so many others, Current Affairs is rapidly becoming
a no go area for so many of us, so sad and I have been around since 2006
All the best to you and your happy group in Hamilton, you have the true spirit of Grown Ups
