To ALL OUR grownups friends, Desi & I are ok here at Harper Gardens although an earthquakes or earthquakes up on first floor scary. Still feel seasick. Just lost lamps and pictures. We picked our way to Desis home in Kaiapoi Huge holes and cracks in roads. Doubledays Rd a mess Had a hard job getting through as rivers have flooded with liquidification Desis home OK. Power off there. Power OK HARPER GARDENS but no water. Thankful for spare kit. How is everyone out there.? Dr Livingstone & Desi.

Pleased to hear you and Desi are OK but it sounds as though you are in for a few uncomfortable days. Have checked with cousins out Shirley way ...theyre OK but quite a bit of damage.

Thank you for your good wishes. The damage at Kaiapoi where I live is disastrous - we are so lucky to have escaped with just a few broken items. We haven't any water, damn - we will have to drink wine glug glug.

Just heard news about the earthquacke hope all are safe take care and I will be thinking of you all.

Aftershocks are continuing this afternoon and we have experienced a dozen of these in my first floor apartment.Some are sharp jolts. The Water came back on awhile ago so we are restocking our emergency kit etc...We have been so lucky.!
