Hi all,
My landlord has put his house on the market and I have been looking since October last year to find somewhere to live somewhere in west Auckland without success. As I have a cat whom I adore and have no intention of putting down or give away in order to find somewhere to live, there are very few rentals that allow pets. I also found that many landlords don't like someone who is home all day! (I'm 67 on super).
I've applied for a State house and am told I'm on the waiting list, but with little chance of getting a house without an official notice to quit. What I want to know is, how much of a chance do I have for getting a place where I can feel safe and secure for the rest of my life, when I finally do get the notice to quit?
If anyone can fill me in on the best way to go about convincing HNZ, that I'm desperate and any experience of other people in my situation, I'd be ever so grateful!
Emma
