Chris, I read on her Facebook last night they are going to Port
Douglas for 10 days. Thought, nah, I'm not rising to the bait and clicked on the button to "Hide" her comments.
I was making a bread pudding this evening, thought I would put raisins in it instead of sultanas. That set me thinking of how Mark loved raisins as a kid and how he should be able to access them more easily now he lives in Oz. No sooner had the thoughts entered my head than the phone rang
Yes it was him, to tell me all about the few sheep he had bought. Me "I hear you are going to Port Douglas, is that in the hols" "No, it is the week school goes back, T organised it all." What about the kids. Elle - T's daughter - is going to spend the nights with them and get them off to school, they will be ok till she gets home from work.
The b...h, organises it after the kids have been to Wagga for the holidays, therefore having them out of her hair and their father's life for 3 weeks.

Good news Ans. Get on the oxygen and you won't know yourself

Had grandies for 3 days, Sally had got herself into a hole like you have been in recently. Lots of mouth ulcers, one infected and yes of course she was sure she had cancer of the mouth. She is now the same age as Jo was when she died

To top it all off, watching the X factor last night and the very last contestant only had half a tongue, he had had cancer of the tongue
Commented to himself that I hoped she wasn't watching but she was

Think we have her sorted now thanks to a brill. GP.
I was expecting a melt down and some stage but not this way!!! All is well now tho

Catch up with you shortly.

PS, I often wonder how people without kids fill in their days. Guess they are the ones that golf and walk and do other fun things. Katie and I did go for a walk this morning, then got caught in rain and rain it did
We were at the park and while the roundabout was fun in the rain even tho wet to sit on, the big slide was extra fast, she came down with a heck of a flourish, landed about a metre out into the bark, hurt her dignity and was very wet.
We were heading home, her with a very wide apart gait, when at the gate stops her mum
"Next time it rains Grandma we will go for a walk again but not to the park." A first experience - walking in the rain - lovely

My day today, as the weather turned back to winter I went back to bed. Read for a while, woke up at 2.45pm.
Paddled outside in the snow, and then retreated to stay by the fire. Cooked dinner, then played games on facebook. Probably won't sleep tonight.

I got out of bed and tried to get under the doorway, but the bed got there first, so I stood against the wall holding the TV steady. It was the biggest quake I can remember. As soon as it stopped I opened the front door to see if my neighbours were about. Bob's door was open and they were fine. Miriam and Bills door was open so I went across. The kettle was on for a cup of tea, and Bill was already cleaning up the broken vases and ornaments. Lucky for us the power is still on.
I hear that a part of the road around around the river is damaged. I never thought about a tsunami possibility until I heard that cars were already fleeing the coast line area. I hope no one has been injured. 7.4 is quite a shake. I have got off lightly with the CD tower tipped over and my clock fell off the wall. Can't believe that the china cabinet contents look okay.Have to wait for daylight to find any structural damage.

I went for a walk to check on the other neighbours and found four of them together in Betty,s house. Poor Betty is in a bad way as a mirror came down and smashed on her lower leg. She is in shock and emergency services are unable to come for a while. Fortunately Esther was a nurse and has done what she can for Betty who is looking ashen. Just have to wait. At least we have the power on and able to stay warm. Grandaughters husband arrived to check on me. They are without power but doing okay. News from parts of the city has buildings demolished. A rumour that looting is taking place could be correct.

Oh Joybel...just turned the TV on and got the news....thinking of all of you down there and your beautiful city. I worry about my sister living in Gisborne thats prone to earthquakes, but one doesnt tend to think of ChCh as a shaky place. Its fortunate the power is still on so you have heat and news...strange we were just talking the other day about emergency kits.
Please report in Ocker, Belladonna, Aggie, Dr L , Desi and all our other ChCh folk

Glad to hear you are ok Jobel. Just watching Sky news, some horrific pictures coming through. Lots of damage to old buildings. National radio is giving out informative news. Never felt it here in Wellington. Hope more after shocks do no more damage. Thinking of you all in Christchurch. Best of luck for the rest of day.
