CB,
Thanks for the idea about gmail. However am I still able to keep my old
"XTRA" email address, or do I have to send everone my new address, suffixed with 'gmail'?

@ Bror Dane.
You can keep your xtra email address and forward gmail addresses to it if you have Outlook.
I could look up other means if you want?

Bror dane,
Gmail you get by opening an email account with Google, it has nothing to do with your other address. And yes, you will have to tell people the new Gmail address.
You can keep the xtra one as well. I have four different addresses and use them all for different things. Gmail sorts out all your spam and is very secure and there are no problems with sending and receiving large files.

Hi CB and All.
One question to ask of you.
I want to know, when on a web page and would like to send it as an email, how to do so.
I tried ' FILE ' > send > by email. But it would not let me or didn't want to!! This is on Windows 7, used to able too on Outlook Express.
Many thanks.

My PC recently had an error report for Windows Explorer (which I seldom use) but I find useful on occasion. When i sent the report off is suggested I should update to Internet Explorer 8, I think I remeber that when it was introduced there were quite a few adverse reports on it's usefulness and as i don't adapt well to change I didn't change at that stage and wondered if it's use is still problematic?
I use Firefox as my browser with Google as my Homepage and recently received an invitation to download Google Chrome and wondered what the users here think of that as a browser as compared with Firefox and IE8?
I use Thunderbird for E-mail and have very little problem with spam and other interuption and checks with Avast, Ad-aware and Super Anti-Spyware seldon find problems with anything I feel pretty happy with the present setup, but wonder if I'm just being a bit conservative?

Hello bjb,
I presume you are using Windows Live Mail? It won't work unless you set it as your default email program.
Windows 7 doesn't come with Outlook Express.

Ted E,
Hi, I have Chrome on my Vista machine, it's OK and does the job. But when I close it, it leaves a running process in the Task Manager. I mainly have it on there so I can print from my Android Tablet.
As a browser, it is good, reliable and with a more streamlined interface. It links easily with mail, Google+ and everything else Google.
Depends whether you do a lot with Google products, so is a matter of personal choice. No harm in you downloading it and giving it a try, you don't have to use it.
Cheers, CB
