I went and saw this on Saturday night in Waikanae. Was a great movie. Was almost a Keystone Cops movie. The fact that the plot to steal the Stone was dreampt up by a student and was so basic was great. Even more so because it was fact. Well worth seeing.

Would be interested in hearing of other films you enjoy/have enjoyed. Only just started going to movies again and don't like some of the things around but surprise myself every now &then with films such as "Stone".

I just saw The Young Victoria at CinemaGold, Vimp, and thoroughly enjoyed it. The backgrounds, costumes and general art direction were so gorgeous, I'd like to rent the DVD when it comes out, just for a more lingering look at the settings and interiors.

Thanks Kari - Your comments gave me the push I needed to go to see this, I see it is still running at Cinema Gold and I will try to go in the coming week. Video Concepts at Midway Shopping in Albert St near Broadway corner usually have quite a good selection of this type of movie so could be worthwhile having a look there. Ask them for their calendar which has a series of special price tickets attached. I have read quite a few different biographies of Victoria and her family so would really like to see the movie.

Have just been to see this at Cinema Gold in PN - they do an occasional Tuesday 10.30 am session for Supergold holders at a reduced rate (this was $9 instead of $13) and this includes a free morning tea in the private foyer at 10.00 am.
Anyway.... the film was great: super Scottish scenery and great views interior and exterior of Westminster Abbey which was nostalgic for anyone who had been there. All based on fact and well produced. Would recommend.
