Happy Mother's Day to us all......
For those who have been enquiring about Kevin - he is travelling down to Palmerston North today ready to start treatment tomorrow. HIs wife and kids are going with him for this first week - think it will help them all if they can see what will be happening with him re radiation/chemotherapy etc and to see where he will be staying for the next 6 weeks.
He will be flown home at weekends during this time - much better for him than having to travel by car which I imagine would be pretty arduous.
Hope you all enjoy Mother's Day - I have decided I am having the day off!
Quilty hugs

Yes, hope all mothers are having a relaxing day. I have had some time in my garden. Its been a beautiful day here in the south.I prepared a salmon quiche yesterday, so only needed combining today, so thats our tea. Also did little sewing this morning. All our family are overseas, so we have skyped and caught up today.Threadz, so pleased Kevin is finally starting his treatment. Will be a tiring day for them today. My positive thoughts are with you, and your family.

Query

Putting a 6" border around Master very nearly two's quilt. Do I still join the material on the diagonal. OK, I know I should have cut it long wise from the 2m piece but other way was easier.

Went to Lincraft and bought a slightly heavier fabric and I see it has faded slightly on the line when I washed it.

Feels almost like a very lightweight garberdine. The very helpful young shop assistant went back and got it for me as she didn't think what I had matched quite right. I was quite happy with the heavier choice thinking it would wear a bit better.
Centre of the quilt has a construction panel with an emergency panel at the top like a 't'. Quite pleased with my afternoon's work. Had bought a length of polar fleece with emergency vehicles on for the backing but it is almost 'spit through' so will get a heavier one tomorrow.
How is Kevin doing Threadz.

Hi Threadz. I had a thought you may have a query . Both powders are super foods, and antioxidants. We have a tspful of each in smoothies every morning for breakfast. If you google, you will read about them.We have some coming from Oz any day, but there are companies in NZ that sell it,but nobody down this way, but you are probably close to an outlet. Our daughter introduced us to the products about a year ago. I pop them into baking from time to time. Not a necessary ingredient, but very good for you.
