Hi Kiwi Gran and Katie,I too enjoy painting.Oils, waters and acrylics.Good fun. Bobbity has put us on to her art site, and once you down load the freeby, you can paint to your hearts content. Then you can show us your artwork. Zap up Pixarra and go from there.I bought a drawing tablet, and it has given me more flexability than using the mouse as your brush.Try it,its great fun.Enjoy.

Hi Kiwigran,
I like to do Folk Art, well I think thats what I do...lol says so in the books anyway.
So far I have done a few bears & flowers but I have a big job ahead of me as I want to get into the "Shabby Chic" look so that means Im going to be painting roses etc on my bedroom suite & Im quite looking forward to doing that.
My sis in Aus does Folk Art & she does all sorts of stuff which I will get into once I have moved.
I just love crafts & spend heaps of time doing it plus computering & like you gardening when I can which isnt often these days due to my bad back.
Well nice to chat.

Hi Wintonbear, haven't been on here for a while all this cold weather and my rhuematoid arthritis i sort of lost the plot lol. Arn't painting the bears lovely i just love when their little faces come to life.and my you are taking on a big project doing the roses i found them hard to do to get them to look real also bet your bedroom suite looks good when its finished, good luck with it. Ive had to take a break from the painting because of my stupid hands, but about to get back into it again have a craft room outside im going to organise so i can just walk away and shut the door, so there will be cows, and teddy bears everywhere again.Have tried other things but always end up with the folk art books and a brush. This weather im having trouble getting off the computer chair lol, nice to talk to you, take care..

Hi Kiwigran,
Im a little like you only able to do things when the body permits but thats ok with me.
I love the teddy but so far havent done cows but my sis has, heaps of them...lol.
I think once I move & get the bedroom suite done if I can get down to it as thats going to be a problem with my back however it turns out Ill be happy...lol
I used to have an outside room for all my craft but not anymore, just make sure you are warm & you will be fine & enjoy.
I have the flu at the moment so Im only here to check emails then back to the comfort of my bed...lol.
Have a great day.

Funny isn't it you take a break from your hobbies, when you have to but always end up going back to it. Today i have spent cleaning up my paints, brushes, and mediums etc,to see what i have to go and buy again i hate to think of the price my paints wil be now lol, as its a while since i have had to buy any. Its pretty cold here to at the moment but my room is not to big and a heater will warm it up in no time I can't be cold lol, i find if im having a bad day health wise i can lose myself in my paintings as they come to life and i feel heaps better. Hope your feeling better winton bear, and that nasty flu bug goes away soon, and all other painters out there are getting through the winter okay..

Hi Kiwigran,

Sorry about not getting back but my first full day out of bed...lol.

Yes I think that the paints of course will be dearer but then what isnt these days.
I still have lots of paints as my sis gave me heaps when she came over from Aus so that was a help & I must say I do mix my own colours a lot.

Sorry that you havent been very well, hope that has now passed & you are feeling a box of birds.

I think once we are into our painting all else goes away...lol.

Take care & lovely to hear from you again.
